Both the blue light (approx. 470 nm) and red light (approx. 670 nm) which AYO emits have been rigorously tested and certified for photobiological safety. Both lights are considered safe for the eyes, meeting the highest photobiological safety standards verified by the independent certification body TÜV Rheinland in compliance with the EU standard IEC 62471. Both lights are classified under the “exempt” group for photobiological risk and have also passed additional eye-safety certifications, including ANSI Z80.36 and ISO 15004-2.
Furthermore, AYO uses proprietary light diffusion system to ensure minimal glare and eye annoyance and AYO's circadian light has up to 6 times less glare than the industry standards.
Are There Any Adverse Effects?
As with any light therapy device, rare adverse reactions - such as discomfort, headache, dry mouth, eye strain, nausea, or hyperactivity - may occur. These are typically mild and transient in nature, especially if light intensity is reduced, session duration is shortened, or AYO is used in a well-lit environment.
